"The Cage"

It's the very first episode, for both our podcast and the entire Star Trek franchise! Everything great has humble beginnings, and in Star Trek's case, it all starts with one man's dream about making a "space western," a kind of TV show no one had ever seen before. In our case, it starts with two blokes watching an episode of Star Trek, grabbing a mic, and praying for God to bless them with a good podcast.

This is also the beginning of our 100 episode list that we're calling Venturing Out Into The Universe, where we're looking at how the Star Trek franchise grows and changes over its entire history. In this first chunk of episodes from our list, we're going to be checking out Classic Trek. This will be a thirteen episode selection focusing on Star Trek: The Original Series (1966-69), with peeks at both Star Trek: The Animated Series (1973-74) and the original Star Trek film series that began in 1979.
